Looking for any info on Benjamin PARKER died 1847 and wife Sally. They lived in Currituck Co. They had at least one child named Letitia who married Waitman FORBES born before August 1813 when he was named as an orphan in court records of Waitman FORBES. Does anyone know these folks?

Hi Cynthia,

Do you know if they were Quakers? I know there were a lot of Quakers in the northeast area of NC. My own BEALS line is descended from John BEALS and wife Mary CLAYTON (Quakers) in the 1600s in PA and went from PA to VA, and then their descendants to the Guilford Co, NC area, which also had a high Quaker concentration.

I am looking to break through some brick walls. My ancestor Morris BEALS was born in 1810 in NC and I believe his father was Asa BEALS. They live near each other in the 1830 or 1840 (from memory :-})Census of Tyrell Co,NC. Morris' wife Julia DEVAUL may be the daughter of Samuel DEVAUL and Elizabeth TWIDDY married 11 August 1809 in Tyrell Co,NC. Eventually Morris and Julia moved to Currituck Co (an area now considered part of Dare Co). Samuel DEVAUL was the son of John DEVAUL. I would love to find out where Asa BEALS and John DEVAUL were from and more about their ancestors. Any info on these folks would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Carol ... I have Vannoy ancestry in Wilkes Co., NC. My 5th great grandfather was Jesse Vannoy (1781-1875) who was married to Mary "Polly" Kilby (1785-1864) through their daughter Elizabeth Ray Vannoy who married John Eller, Jr.
