have been attmpting to locate Andrew H. Wilson BL 1803 North Carolina; beleive his wife was Ann or Anna Weatherly. Had Daughter Elizabeth W.Wilson who married Lorenzo Smith Shepherd. Both families are suppose to be buried in Albia, but I have not been able to find info on Andrew or Ann. Other Surnames include: Golden, Spilman, Pease, Morgan and Dodson/Dotson

I had no idea there were Quakers who settled in the Eastern part of North Carolina! When did they arrive there?

Cynthia,

There were several in the Pasquotank and Perquimans area, as well as in Nansemond Co., VA. See: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~quakers/quakmtg.htm

Rick,
I don't know if Asa BEALS was a Quaker or not,but I also had Quaker ancestors in the area around Philadelphia,PA (MORGAN/BOONE). At the time of his death,Morris BEALS,was attending a Baptist church (12 October 1890-Kitty Hawk,NC). Do you (or anyone else) know if there were any Quaker meetings in that area?

I'm researching all African American Pettiford's in NC from the 1700s on. I have lots of documentation and trying to piece the family units together now. Be happy to help anyone researching the Pettifords.

Tammy,

Can you be more specific with given names and dates? My SHORT Family was in the nearby Rockingham and Guilford County areas in the 1700s. I believe, though, that some may moved into the Surry County (Mt. Airy) area in the 1800s, although I haven't followed those a lot as my line left NC in the early 1800s.

Also, do you have contact with any male SHORTs that you might be able to get to DNA test? I am the administrator for the SHORT DNA Project. My line above is Lineage II on the Results Page.

Whether you have anyone that might test or not, I would invite you to submit information on your earliest known generations for the Patriarch's Page, that I would be glad to add.

Looking for info on the wife of John AYDELOTT (son of David-Somerset Co,MD and unknown woman)who died in Spot,Powells Point,Currituck Co,NC. Her first name was Mary and her maiden name may have been BOWEN. They had at least two children,Elijah and Bowen. Were there any others? If she was Mary BOWEN are her parents known to anyone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for info on Julian SANDERSON died 1752 Currituck Co,NC. Her first husband was Joseph CHURCH. Does anyone out there know her maiden name and parents? Which SANDERSON did she marry after Joseph? She names her granddaughters Elizabeth CHURCH and Ann WHITE in her will and her son-in-law Henry WHITE was executor.
