Martin Southwood has related the sad news that Janet Cridland,
who has been a great help to me in transcribing Parish Registers as well
as being an Online Parish Clerk for part of West Somerset, has sadly passed
away after a painful fight against cancer.

She will be sorely missed.

Hi Guys,

Just got a big box of photos mainly with Cecil Buttle (no relation to me), cricketer for Somerset. Anyone related and would like me to copy them?

Taken from the Somerset Record Office web site:
From 5 July 2010 until the autumn, the office will be closed, although we will continue to answer enquiries by post, phone and email throughout the move. For more information, please see the Somerset Heritage Centre section on this website. http://www1.somerset.gov.uk/archives/

I am a descendant of Richard GIBLETT (b. c1751 Frome) who married Sarah SHEPPARD or SHEPHERD of Frome in 1783. Known children of Richard and Sarah GIBLETT: Ann (d. 1787); John (woollen cloth manufacturer of Frome, issue Henrietta and Mary); Samuel; Thomas (mar. Isabella HOOPER, issue Richard, Ann, Sarah, John, Jane, Harriet); Mary (mar. James WEBSTER); Sarah (mar. George WEBSTER); Elizabeth. Were some of this family buried in Nunhead/Camberwell cemeteries, London? Is there a connection between Richard GIBLETT of Frome and John GIBLETT who married Sarah WHITFIELD at St. Marylebone in London in 1793?
