I think it is better to use discussion forum for questions about persons in Norway. It will be very difficult to connect questions and answer in the comment wall.

Hello Norwegian Reasearches. Nice to be a Co-group Admin here. I will try to help everyone in this group to search family in Norway. I will come back with more information later.

I would like more information about my gg grandparents Haldor Jacobsen who was born at Skavdal Farm, Vuku, Norway. I have no dates. His wife Guru Olsdatter born at Vangstad 1777. Their daughter was Anne Haldorsdatter b. 25 Sep 1816 at Skavdal Farm. She died 1895. Her husband was Anders Larsen Bogseth b. 6 Jan 1816 Ulvillen farm, Vuku, Norway. They were married 11 Nov 1840 and he died 1893. I would just like to know the dates that are missing and any other interesting info.

In the past I have gotten some wonderful information from bygdeboks but haven't corresponded with anyone who has a book for the Vuku parish.

My grandfather emigrated from Norway in 1888 to Ericson, Nebraska and I was born on the farm that he homesteaded.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can help me!!!

Leona,

I'm a big fan of MNHS.org.

That is pretty much how I made the initial connections from my husbands father back 5 generations to Norway.

People looking for connections in Minnesota might look at the Minnesota Historical Society site. mnhs.org

Torill,

No, his middle names were Linden Limon. His full name was Lester Linden Limon Olson. Also, his father's name was Ole Grenadias Olson. I have no idea where the names came from. They have baffled the members of my family for many years. Of course, we didn't think to ask when the members who would have known were alive.
