Trying to track a ROSE family that may have lived in the Michigan, Ohio or Indiana areas and migrated to Kentucky in the early 1800s. Father William ROSE, known children Mary Eliza ROSE (1829-1894) and Elizabeth ROSE (1836-1920). Both of these women lived, married and eventually died in the vicinity of Louisville, KY. (On Elizabeth's death certificate, the name of her mother is given as "Arios Smith" but I am fairly certain this is an error...whichever of her children was the informant likely misremembered.)
Are there any Acker, Aker, Akers, or Hale's in this group, or does anyone know of any of these surnames that have done a Y-DNA test, so I can compare my Y-DNA results?
Update on my research of my Hale line.
A before unknown cousin was located who is the great granddaughter of Henry Hale a brother to John Hale, my great grandfather. She stated that her mother (Mary Quinn) always told her and her brother they were not really Hale. They were AKERS. Her mother told them an Aker was adopted either by Henry Hale or his father John Hale, my great great grandfather.
Would any one know of any Acker/Aker/Akers that was taken in by a Hale family? Thanks for any help.
John Hale
Hello, Lou: I am quite familiar with the northern pandle of WV since I grew up there. My cousins grew up there, too. My cousin's husband is recovering from having a pacemaker put in so it may be a while before I can answer you about William Reese. Roberta
Looking for contact info for mae that posted these: (I am related to both the Hale and Trusty families)
Loking for contact info about member Mae, posted these messages: (I have info on this Hale and Trusty family. I am related to both families.
Deb: I said "northern panhandle of WV", not Ohio. The Ohio River is on one side and PA on the other. I will write to my cousin and find out what I can. Roberta
Hello Deb: If by "this area", you mean the northern panhandle of WV, I might e able to help you. I have a cousin who is married to a Reese. Please let me know. Roberta Baum
