FYI~ There is a closed group on Facebook for Carbon County area researchers. One may join by request. I was lucky enough to receive a photo of an old aunt's headstone from a fellow researcher shortly after joining. I was surprised she was born in PA. When I was younger I thought her accent sounded very German.

Hello Michelle,

The History of Tioga County Pennsylvania, (R.C. Brown & Co., 1897), pg 1097, includes a sketch of Joseph R. Bradford which states he married Mary Monroe of Portsmouth, Rhode Island in May 1822.

There is also a sketch for a man named Bateman Monroe, born 02 March 1815, also in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Perhaps there’s a family connection between Mary Monroe Bradford and Bateman Monroe?

Good Luck with your search!

Alane
