I am looking for a man with the last name STEPHENS born in Pennsylvania that moved to Illinois and married a woman born in Ohio. They had a son William J. STEPHENS born February 12, 1850 in Illinois. In the 1860 census William J. STEPHENS is living with William A. VAUGHAN and wife in Henderson County, Illinois. I don't know William J. STEPHENS parents names other than from the census info if it is correct that his dad was born in Pennslyvania and mom was born in Ohio. There might be a possibilty that the name could have been STEPHENSON but we don't know if that is just a rumor that the son got mad at the dad and removed "on." Please contact me if you had a STEPHENS ancestor move within the Henderson County, Illinois area prior to 1860. Thanks.

Hello everyone - I am working on western Pennsylvania families - Shirey; McElravy; Raifsnyder and Fasenmyer. Most of them settled in Clarion, Armstrong and Venango Counties. Anyone else looking for these folks?
Hello everyone. New to this group. I've been studying family who settled in Bradford, Luzerne, and Northampton counties in the 18th and early 19th century. Family names include Ennis, Decker, Sherman, Coolbaugh, Shoemaker. A stubborn brick wall for me is Elizabeth Sherman (24 Aug 1804-7 Sep 1893) (my 3 x great grandmother). She married John Coolbaugh in 1818 and had six children. I've looked at the census data and everywhere else I could think, and cannot find any trace of her parents or family. If she sounds familiar to anybody, please shout.
