Nancy,

I had a friend whose husbands people left Pennsylvania and went to Indiana. I wonder if a group left at the same time. I do not know if they were Mennonite, but they were living in Lancaster County before leaving. I did not realize that my Welsh Mountain Relatives went to Mennonite Schools. There is a lot of information on Quakers reaching out to the community not so much with Mennonites. When I lived in Reading there were several African American Families who were Mennonite. One of my best friends told me that she was a Mennonite. That is what I love about Genealogy finding so much rich history!

Hi Anita--- My husband's  grandmother descended from the Menonite's of Lancaster,Pa. Her name was Sarah Harr/Herr--- somewhere in time , Herr became Harr , it seems---- There are many of her relatives buried in the Willow Street Cemetery---- she married Corneilus Whallon, my husbands Grandfather-- Sarah and Corneilus are buried in the Rhule Cemetery outside of Terre Haute, Indiana- look it up on FIND A GRAVE----- I think Willow Street Cemetery might be listed on FAG too.-----------   Nancy

Mt. Airy Mennonite School, New Holland Pa., 1889.  This is a picture of children from the Welsh Mountains, in Lancaster County. They attended the Mt. Airy Mennonite School. Some are my Green, Harris, Parker, and Watson relatives.

Where would I find marriage records for Andrew Whisler (1770-1843) and Catherine ____ (1772-1851) ?  1st child b. 1798, some say Lancaster, PA.  6th child Mary ("Polly") b. 1803 in Loudon, Franklin Co., PA.

Hello, I have been trying to trace my Kennedy's without much luck. I know they settled in PA near Conococheague Creek and for generations my family has been in Franklin County (currently Chambersburg). It gets confusing because John and David were common names through my direct line, then Lazarus. My direct line is William (?), David (1), John, David (3), Lazarus (1, 2, 3), Harold D., Harold P.

I have not been able to verify that William is David's father. Franklin County History that I have read mention the 3 Davids as if they are one in the same, but they are not (dates are different). I was hoping that someone might know where I might look from here.

I know that David (1) was believed to have been married to a Seneca Indian Maiden (felt to be a relative of Cornplanter). David had 5 children (to confuse things named his 2 sons John and David (2)). John had 3 children named Ellen, Mary, and David (3). David (3) had a son named Lazarus (1) that he left his land to when he passed.

The first David is believed to have been born about 1708 and died about 1768. I cannot verify when or how he came to the US, nor can I verify that William is his father's name. Apparently John and David are traditional names for the Kennedy's.

I wonder if anyone knows of them or maybe could point me in the right direction.

Hi again! I forgot to mention the names of the children born to Jonathan Case and Mariah Cox: All born in PA, just possibly in Catawissa, Columbia County, PA and showed up again in 1850 in Roscoe, Winnebago, Illinois. These are the children whose mother (my fourth great-grandmother) Maria Cox or possibly Sarah Mariah Cox - we can't find. Sarah Case b.1830; Charles Case b. 1833, m. Martha Grason George Case b.1835; Martha Case b. 1838 m. Joseph Caspni;Harriet Case b. 1840 (my third great-grandmother); and William J. Case b. 1846 in Illinois. We have been looking for over a year for Jonathan Case' wife, Maria or Mariah or Sarah Mariah Cox.....(one record has him married to an Anna Fox from Spruce Hollow PA but that didn't pan out) perhaps a first wife...sure feels good to be connected to others on a Pennsylvania heritage journey. Thanks. Kathleen

Hello I am new to the group and have been researching my maternal roots that seem to come out of NJ, but more strongly PA with surnames  Adam Case/Deats, Adam Case/Opdycke, Jonathan Case/Cox. Jonathan Case m. Mariah or Maria Cox and they had six children all born in PA - we can't seem to locate the Cox history at all which makes us wonder if she might have been native American. Sharing. Thanks. Kathleen

Hi.  I am researching William Williams and his wife Jemima (Russell), who was born about 1806 PA, and died probably 1859-1874.  They had children John Williams b. 1841, PA, and Eliza (Cartwright).  I have not found them in any census.  I have nothing on William Williams.  I'm guessing he was born in PA.
