You are very welcome.
Stay in touch,
Maureen
Fine with me. I'm not big on privacy or online security issues—don't have much to hide, and, if someone wanted to steal my credit, they'd likely find themselves beset by a barrage of hideous plagues. I hope she emails me, and I look forward to hearing from her. Thank you.
I will contact her and let her know we are in touch.
I ould let her have your e mail if that is ok with you.
Maureen
Maureen,
Wow, someone who knew Mary Lee must be quite old by now. Even my parents generation is all gone now. Love to get his/her contact info, or perhaps you could share mine.
Don
Don,
I have got it and I am looking at it.
It is very interesting and you have the same as I do back to Richard and Julia but that was where I got stuck.
I am in touch with a first cousin in Florida who knew Mary Lee (Pierce) and her family but they lost touch.
Michael J Pierce, Anthony and Theresa's son was my Dad.
This is so interesting.
Thanks for sharing your tree with me.
I haven't done a lot on my tree on ancestry, I tend to put it all on Family Tree Maker, but I will check it and share it with you.
Best wishes
Maureen
Maureen,
I just invited you to view my tree (I generally keep it private and, I guess, always will, until it's iron-solid, which is not likely to be for some time yet).
If you don't receive my invite momentarily, check in your trash. Sometimes the solicitous ones from strangers show up there. If you still can't find it, please let me know, and I'll try again.
Best,
Don
Hi Don,
I have sent my em ail via private message.
Regards
Maureen
Hi Maureen,
You are then my second cousin, 1X removed. Anthony's sister Mary Pierce (b.1879) was my ggreatgrandmother.
I think I may have broken through your brick wall on the Lally side, unless it's just wishful thinking (there being less than 100% certitude here, but very strong circumstantial evidence.)
If you share your email with me, I happy to share my family tree on Ancestry.com with you, so you can see for yourself. I have a sneaking suspicion that members of these associated families lived in this little neighborhood for generations in Galway City, near Eyre Square. This will make them much easier to find, as all their rites of birth, baptism, etc. were presumably at St. Nicholas Combined N&E. May go back quite far. Additionally, that is the area we should be looking for tenant records. Plus we should be looking for tailors, as generations didn't skip occupation as casually as we do nowadays. Incidentally, Martin Lee, Mary's husband was also a Merchant Seaman, and is also curiously invisible in the record stream. Anthony and he may well have been friends and been on the same ships together.
Best,
Don
Hi Don,
Richard Pierce and Julia Lally are my brickwall. Their son Anthony Pierce born 1865 was my Grandfather. He was a Merchant Mariner/Cattleman and seemed to sail back and forth between Liverpool and Boston/Montreal but I have been unable to find out what happened to Anthony or his wife Theresa Pierce nee Lyons.
How are Richard and Julia related to you.
The information you have found is very useful, however a marriage certificate for Richard and Julia would be really good..
Best wishes
Maureen
