I am looking for individuals who have ancestors who lived on Pinckney Island in Beaufort County, SC from 1743-1852.  I descend from a Daphne and Dick apparently slaves of the Pinckney Family, sold to Pinckney Island sometime before the Civil War.  My ancestor was on Pinckney Island shortly after his birth in 1834 and shortly before the outbreak of the Civil War.  He was sold as a family, by family, within family as the story goes from Abbeville.  He was "bound" to a man by the name of Cotesworth Pinckney of Beaufort,  SC.  I just want to meet all the ancestors of the individuals who have descendants whose family may have been enslaved on Pinckney Island.  I would love to also meet those descended from the Pinckney Family who are open to reaching out to those looking for more information regarding the plantation.  Many stories were passed down and it'd be a great thing to be able to talk and share them.
