Thomas Richards & Mary Tate

My brick wall is my gr.gr. grandpa Thomas Richards who was married to Mary Lee Tate in Elbert County, Ga. Thomas was born around 1797.  I can not find his parents any where. Some of his decendants were tested for DNA but it hasnt helped yet.  They were living in Carroll County, Georgia at the time of his death.  I am descended through his son John Perry Richards married to Nancy Elizabeth Camp and then through their daughter Lillian Richards married to Robert E. Lee Hinesley.  I noticed on the Richards DNA page that his descendants DNA matched exactly with another family tested but dont know how they are connected.  I believe that Thomas had some brothers who went to texas.  They were listed in a small book about this Richards family but this was burned when we had a house burn down a few years back.  Any help appreciated.
