My mother side is Richards, I know they lived in Cotton Plant arkansas.

Hi,

My husband has Richards in his tree, it sort of winds in and out because there were cousins who married.

Riley Richards b Feb 1811 VA, d 24 Apr 1904 Polk Cnty, IA

Marriage to Sarah C (Surname unknown) 1833.

Children: Mary Jane Richards 1835-1919 (My husband's 2nd g grandmother) Married Henry N Gates (1824-1885).
Branson Richards b 1838 married Mary A (1842-1870)
Sarah Richards b 1842 married E F Lambert
Ellen Richards b 1845 d 1926 married Hankins C McKeehan
William E Richards b 1848 married Nancy L Herren (their son Alvia E. Richards married the daughter of Mary Jane Richards - Susan M Gates.)
Louisa Richards b abt 1851 married Joseph Elson
George W Richards b abt 1854

We have no further information about Riley or his wife, Sarah C. If anyone has a possible connection please contact.

Riley started in VA, then found in Greene County, OH - Appanoose County, IA - to Putnam County, MO then back to IA - Polk County.

My Richards passed through Maysville, Mason Co., KY about 1796 on their way to Ohio, then Illinois. Started in VA.
I am thinking we need a comprehensive database of all Richards in the US (world?) and link as many DNA tests as we can get to it. Could I get you to send me more detail on that section of your Richards line, perhaps in gedcom format?

Hi,
I just joined the group. My Richards line dead ends in Wilson Co, TN - 1804 with William Richards b ca 1760-70 d 1846-50 Richland Co, IL. I am almost sure that William came through KY in the 1785-1800 range but don't know where he originated - VA, NC, PA? Would love to connect with any Richards in middle TN in the 1804-1830 time range.

I'll see what I can do, Claude. My father was the oldest of 11 children, 7 of whom were boys. There are 10 male cousins with the surname Richards. Wow. There are 46 of us cousins and I sure thought there were more boys with the Richards name. When I counted just now I realized there were many more girls and of course, those with other surnames.

They would need to be male cousins with the Richards surname.
As far as elderly goes, since it is only a matter of swabbing the cheek or rinsing out the mouth, the cost would seem to me to be more of an obstacle than age. I would be very interested to see how their test would line up with mine.

Two uncles that are very elderly and sick. I don't know if I could get them to do it. There are quite a few male cousins, however. Would they qualify?
