The Ryle Family of Macclesfield, Cheshire, UK
John Charles RYLE was the first Bishop of Liverpool, England. His father and grandfather, both John too, were businessmen in the Silk industry of Cheshire. One was a member of the British Parliament, and a banker too for a time. J C Ryle's son Herbert Edward RYLE was also a Bishop, and Dean of Westminster Abbey. While Dean he was involved in the return of the body of an unknown soldier from the graves of WWI and he presided over the interment of that first Unknown Warrior in the main aisle of Westminster Abbey. Dean Ryle is now interred at the foot of the Unknown Warrior.
My paternal Grandmother, the last of her line of Ryles died in 1957, and used to talk of Sunday afternoon tea with Bishop Ryle, known to her as "Uncle". He was not an uncle, but I would like to trace the line from John, John and John Charles through to my Grandmother.
I would welcome any assistance with submissions of gedcom files for any and all UK Ryles in an attempt to assemble a complete descendancy.
