Sanders of Orangeburgh District, SC and SE Louisiana (Florida Parishes)

My mother's father was Edwin Olen Sanders, b. 1876 in Hammond, LA and died in 1961 in Bloomington, IL. His father was Edwin Andrew Sanders, b. 1829 in Washington Parish, LA and died in 1893 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA. His father was Daniel Sanders, b. abt. 1800 in Orangeburgh District, SC, and died sometime after 1880 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA. His father was Blancet (also spelled Blansett, Blanset, Blancett, etc.) Sanders, b. abt. 1772 in Orangeburgh District, SC and died in 1852 in Saint Tammany Parish, LA. His father was Thomas Sanders, b. (believed) 1742 in Charleston District, SC, and died 1812 in Orangeburgh District, SC.

Members of this Sanders family still live in South Carolina (Colleton County), Louisiana, and Illinois, as well as the descendants that are now spread throughout the country.

I would love to hear from anyone related.

I don't know if we are related but my Grand pa's brother was Edwin Floyd (bud) Sanders, born to Floyd and Edna Sanders in Rocky Ford, CO in 1917. Floyd's Dad was Jackson Beaugard Sanders from Virgina. We are from Virgina, West Virgina, and Tennessee, I guess.
No, the information you give seems to make it unlikely. Good luck in your research.
Hi, I'm June Sanders Morrison. I don't know if we are kin in some way but alot of my ancestors came from SC. My dad was Ernest Burson Sanders(1917 Ala.), his father was Oliver Daniel Sanders-1884 ala. (married Bama Beasley), his father was Joseph S. Sanders-1844 SC (Married Eugenia Haddox-1848 al), his father was joseph Sanders 1798 SC (married emily SC ?), his father was John Sanders (1750-1760SC) married to Elizabeth ? Anything sound familar? Emily Haddox father was billups haddox-1811 SC married to Ellafair Dean-1818 SC
Hi June.

My ancestor Thomas Sanders of Orangeburgh had a younger brother named John who was born or baptized 5 Feb 1756. It's possible this was your John Sanders. I don't know who he married, but my Thomas' brother John lived near him in Orangeburgh in 1790. The census shows him living with 1 free white female, presumably his wife. No children, no other family members in household on that date.

I haven't found too much on the siblings of Thomas, unfortunately. Maybe between the two of us, we can figure out if your John and my Thomas were brothers (or related otherwise).

Thanks for responding,
Jeanie
