Good Sunday evening, y'all!
My Great-Uncle Benny was buried this Saturday, at Elmwood Cemetery in Mexico, MO. While there, I took a cruise to take some pictures of the sad state of the 'black' section of the cemetery where many Lues and Gardners are buried. I also made it a point to take some photos of my great-uncle's final resting place. He was a veteran of WWII; the military handled their business for him, which was good. What struck me more than the salute with guns and drums was that he was buried in a typically 'white' section of the cemetery - when his predecessors still rest, sectioned away. The agony and the irony!
