The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

Hi all, it's taken me some time to actually start trying to connect. LOL I belong to the Closet Skeleton Genealogical Society, we've been researching our family histories for the better part of the last decade...maybe even more, time's is all relative anyway isn't it?
I've had some luck tracing my Baker's back. My grandfather Thomas Davidson Baker emigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings. He was born in Coatbridge to James Baker and Margaret Davidson. His Grandfather was from Rigghead Farm, Bothwell Parish, and I've traced them ultimately back to a James Baker, born in Islay, at Port Nahaven in 1775. The area of Coatbridge that they were finally living in appears to be Old Monkland? I tried contacting the church there, as I'm sure I have relatives buried there, but have had no luck. I'm also looking to connect with any Bakers who may still be in the area, or anyone who may have known them. Yes, I know...a genealogists dream. LOL

Thanks to anyone who can help
Jim
