Brydon family of Selkirk

My grandmother's maiden name was Brydon.  The first of her line in this country was Robert Brydon who has been traced back to Selkirk in Scotland.  There are Brydons in England but mine were definitely from Scotland as were many Brydons.  Does anyone in this group related to or know of the Brydons of Selkirk?  My ancestor's first appearance in the US was in Woodford County, KY about the 1770s.  I do not think they are a big family.  I do some of them immigrated to Canada.
