Hi Pat!

I wonder if they would enjoy our weekly GENTREK chats? We've nearly 150 presentations now.

Happy Dae·
Of course we would , Dae.

Contact me in-world Clarise Beaumont with your request and we can schedule things to start as soon as you wish.
I'll check with Jayne and get back to you tomorrow.

Dear Dae,
A number of folks have written to me individually, wondering why I would just blindly accept your offer. They just don't know that my decision isn't blind. I know your work and Jayne's from the old AOL Genealogy Forum days in addition to the excellent work you've continued to do since AOL's GF closed down. Where there is a will there's a way. You were also a successful presenter at the 2009 Mesa Family History Expo.
Hi Myrt, I would be happy to help with this, but am not sure what the requirements and/or duties would be. Could you let me know more about this?
I can answer that--get in touch with Myrt or me! In-world she is Clarise Beaumont and I am Barbara Collazo.

The chats are 45 minutes or an hour, are usually done by text (although voice is possible). When I run them, I generally make a couple of announcements and ask for consent to record the chat, then turn it over to the presenter. I have seen presentations that are essentially speeches (you can prepare notes ahead of time and paste lines into chat if you wish), and those that are framed as a series of questions to open discussion. People are generally not shy about commenting, so you can expect questions and comments.

Choose a topic! You can check the calendar that Myrt posted here for recent and upcoming topics. We will especially need hosts while she is away getting hitched, but there is room for more anytime.

WHAT is your area of expertise -- Native American? Beginning? North Carolina? Germans to Russia?

Chose a category, and decide if you'd like to share you insight with others on a weekly, bi-monthly or monthly basis.

Then contact one of us in-world (meaning when you are signed in to Second Life) to schedule a time convenient to your schedule. You can give as much as little time to the project as you see fit. We get by with a little help from our friends, don't we? YES!
