I want to know anything and everything that I can about my family. I have no family here that knows about them. I am trying to find family that may or may not know about my CMT disease and see if any other family has the same thing.
And what is't you like to know about him?
/Annelie
Alfred and Anna gave birth to a son in Skovde,,Vastergotland, Sweden named Hjalmar George Carlson, born 7-24-1891 and died 11-5-1973
Carlson is in Sweden Karlsson or Carlsson. Thousands have that name. You have to have more information on the person who are looking for.

Does anyone have any information with the surname Carlson, that could be of help to me? I am at a brickwall with my ggreat graandfather Alfred and Anna Carlson.
Thank you, Annelie! That was interesting information, and a good web site.
Thank you, Stephen! I would like to follow Johanna Johansdotter, if possible. I continue to be amazed and grateful of the willingness to help that I am finding from you and Annalie.
Rote is a military term. Sweden had a special militarysystem there some farms a village had to provide for a soldier, some land a cottage. More you can read about at http://www.algonet.se/~hogman/swegen.htm - Swedish Military History.

Hi Kristen! Glad to see you are still researching your Swedish roots. I don't know what Annelie has already sent you, but I found your family in two of the household examination rolls for Lekåsa, as well as the moving out list for Lekåsa. The couple was married in 1881. Two sons who died in Sweden are listed, as well as a surviving son Karl Albin, born 30 July 1885. Let me know if you're interested in more detailed information. It should be possible to follow Johanna Johansdotter back in time in Åsaka ( = Barne-Åsaka).
Thank you so much, Annelie! What is a rote?
