Samuel Sledge b. 1820 NC

My Sledge line is actually from my husband's side. My husband's great grandmother was Lillie Ida Sledge b. 1869 AL d. 1915 TX. She married Thomas Henry Cothran 1896 Grimes Co., TX. Her tombstone also has the name Maness on it, so I'm thinking she remarried after Thomas died, but have found no evidence. I can not locate her death certificate either. Before marrying Thomas, she married A.H. Kirby.

Lillie's parents are Samuel Sledge and Lucinda Baker. Samuel b. about 1820 NC. I have found them both in Autauga Co., AL in 1860, Elmore Co., AL in 1870, and Washington Co., TX 1880. I have not gotten any further back than him on the Sledge line, nor the Baker line for that matter. Any help is appreciated.
