Larry, Was your Great Grandfather Daniel Smith already married in the 1850 Census?
I'm looking for information about my Great Grandfather Daniel Smith. He was born in Southeast Missouri about 1830. He died 1865-1867. The last official record of him is the 1860 Census in Cape Girardeau County, Missoui. His wife remarried. We have information on her after his death and her remarriage. They had 2 sons John, Thomas, and Joseph and a daughter Elizabeth or Mary. We have information on my Grandfather Thomas and his brother Joseph. Any information would be helpful. Thanks
My Smith surname has hit a brick wall in SW Virginia with James Henry Smith and Esther Kilgore. James was born Aug 1824 and died after the 1910 census. I cannot make a definite parent connection. I am working on documentation to prove the line.
Hi my maiden name is Smith.
I am tying to find my grandfather, Charles Austin Smith Or maybe his name was Austin Charles? I know he lived in St .Louis Missouri in 1917 and was married to Cora O. Johnson, Werner (widow of Christ Werner d. 1914)Cora and my grandfather had a child by the name of Robert Charles Smith ( my father ) in 1917. Cora also had 4 daughter with Christ Werner.
I also know he was in the military as my father received benefits from his fathers military pension.
Cora died in 1918 and my father lived with Cora's parent Abner and Nancy Johnson until1922 when Cora's mother turned my father over to the Board of Children's Guardians for adoption. He was never adopted and grew up in an orphanage. What ever happened to Charles Austin?
Recent discovery for George Elbert Smith. (1875 - 1955) On his death cert his mother is listed as Louise not Margaret. He was born in Viroqua, WI and died in SD.
I can't find anything definitive on his father, James A or mother Louise.

Still looking for ancestor Josiah Thompson Smith born 1812 in PA. He's my primary 'brick wall' after 30+ years of research. Lived in Hamilton County, OH 1832-39, Des Moines Co. IA 1839-52, Siskiyou County California 1852-62, Los Angeles CA 1870. Connected with Cummins family in Ohio. It's possible the name "Milton" is associated with the family as descendants carried that name as a middle name. There is info on Ancestry about him, but it is my work (but not submitted by me).
Hi: my maiden name was Smith. I have only gotten back as far as my gr gr grandfather Schuyler Ephriam Smith b 1819 in Stanstead Plain, QC m Lucinda Robinson Blake b 1817 in Island Pond, Vt. I think they were both hatched from eggs as I have never been able to go any further back. Most of the family branches lived in the NE area & still do.
