My Maternal Grandfather is: George Elbert Smith Born 14 Jun 1875 Viroqua WI, Died 5 Dec 1955 Winner, SD. His father is James A. Smith (1825-1908) born in Scioto, Ohio. Died in Viola WI. His mother was Margaret Catherine Allen. Born 1 Apr 1842 in Perry, Ohio. Died in Viroqua WI 1 Jun 1905.

My great grandfather was James Elias Smith of Little Rock, AR and his father was Augustus E Smith, of Cincinnati, OH, St. Louis, MO, & Baxter, AR. Augustus was born in the 1820s & served in the 41st volunteer Missouri regiment (Union). Would love to share information to anyone who has run across my ancestors.

Hi all, I found this Book while in Ancestry that some of you might be interested in. Or just go to your local Library online and thru Heritage Quest you can also see this Book.The Title is Abstracts of Wills 1791-1850 of Rensellaer County N.Y.
And since my father Harry Douglas was born in that county and the city of Troy, I was hoping I could find a link there so I copied most of the "Smith" pages. Check it out..
