Many genealogical & local historical societies have developed or sponsored 'outreach' projects which bring genealogy & family history & local history to the attention of their communities. What kind of projects has your group been involved in - or what projects would you like to do? Have your participated in centennials or other celebrations? Local festivals?
We could all learn from each other's ideas & experiences, I feel.
In the United Kingdom, the Local Government Information Unit has a new project - Small is Beautiful - to publicise services and projects with a big community impact - done with minimal cost. Includes heritage services, cemeteries, cultural services, archives, museums. Details, links to brochure, applications, etc.:

This will be of special importance to UK groups - but I will be watching for more about this - to hear more about the kind of projects people are doing.
