John M. Franz, Hidalgo Co.

John M. Sr. was quite active : Born in Baltimore, MD in 1842, Wagonmaster (Ft. Brown), Mounted Customs Inspector (Roma etc.), Co. Assessor, Public School Teacher and Census Taker---that I know of. He died between the census date of 4/21/1910 & a letter dated 7/7/1910 from John M. Jr. (a cowboy in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show at the time), giving Power of Attorney over "Father's Estate" to bro. W. F. The assumption is he's in the Franz plot in the City Cemetery. I know just about everything but the death date. Save the "record search and cem. files" advice as it ain't so. Friend of family and they are interested but I've got more time.
