Last post on here was 2018.
Is anyone connected to South Dakota and willing to share information?
I have a lot of pictures of the Wentworth people. Is anyone else from that area and do you have any to share. Do you know any other places where we can share them with people who care?
What happened to all the Dakota people? Have you found other interests? I would love to see some updates on homesteaders in the state
Just checking to see if anyone else here has connections to Lake and/or Moody counties. Especially around the 1800s forward. What resources have you found?
June's Updates - May had a TON as well, but I did not post them here. You can see all of the years' updates so far by going to genealogytrails.com/sdak/ and scrolling down to the Update link.
Every county (I think?!) has been updated, most of them significantly. Thanks to our dedicated hosts blitzing the state with data, and our wonderful Transcription Team, we've been able to put thousands of birth, death, and military records online, as well as a potpourri of other items.
Enjoy!

Glad to see some more people coming to the SD group.
Diane - where have you looked for her. I gave a quick look at find-a-grave and didn't get a match.
Hi Diane,
It's perfectly appropriate to post your info here - hopefully someone will come along and have the information you need.

I'm trying to find where my great-great grandmother is buried in Hughes Co., SD. I hope it's appropriate for me to post this here...I'm new at posting on GenealogyWise (although I signed up quite a while back).
Cynthia (Pilgrim) Johns (wife of John Johns) died on 10 May 1883 in Pierre, Hughes county, South Dakota of measles and consumption. Unfortunately, I don't know where she was buried.
I'm hoping someone can help me find out where she is buried and if there is a newspaper obituary. Perhaps someone else is researching this line and has this information, or someone has access to cemetery or newspaper records.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Diane
