MANZANARES family immigrated to Palermo Sicily

I am looking for a link to the MANZANARES Family I know they were from Spain and i think around Madrid. My Ancestor was Tommaso MANZANARES who married Anna BASILE in Palermo in 1749 in Palermo Sicily. The marriage record as well as our family lore says he was born in the kingdom of Spain. Family lore also says we have some connection to the Manzanares Castle but so far I have been unable to make a connection, this family lore was passed down to families who were separated for over 100 years. Tommaso Manzanares looks as if he arrived in Palermo some time before 1749, he appears to have been by himself and down through the generations we can see the name migrated to MEZZANARES, MAZZANARES and some stayed MANZANARES but all were descendants of this Tommaso and Anna. I have also wondered if his name became Manzanares after he immigrated to Palermo, perhaps it was something else in Spain. I have found other MANZANZRES' in Mexico and the south western US but they are not descendants of this Tommaso, none of our MANZANZRES" came to the us only the MEZZANARES and all of those are related. I would love to find out more about the life of Tommaso in Spain and perhaps why he left. What may have been going on in Spain or in Palermo that caused him to leave.
