In order to help each other, list the St. Louis connections (surnames).
I will start with my wife's surnames as she has deep St. Louis roots.
Sutter, Vollmer, Lahman, Tegtmeyer, Kenow, Poesel, and Streckfous.
My surnames in the St. Louis area are Driscoll, Kelly, Bohan, Walbridge. I seem to be at a dead end here and am hoping to gather more info on the Driscoll side and the Kelly side. Most of the family is buried at Calvery.
Michele - I have the Driscoll and Bohane names in my family tree. My ancestors are from southwest Co Cork Ireland near Baltimore. If you want to do research in Ireland, you have to know the townland your ancestors were from.
I believe that my driscoll's came from Ballydehob. I am looking for information on Timothy Driscoll who married Katherine Bohan(e). Timothy was born in Cork from what I understand. His death cerificate is not transcribed yet for the missouri database. He died in 1895. I have found Katherine's. Both Timothy and Katherine are family names carried down for generations. Any connections?
I have many St Louis ancestors. Surnames, Bradburn, Leech, Steger, Corrigan, O'Reilly, Finnegan,
Brannigan, Heier, Schumacher, Ens, Bartels. And that's just the start!
My STL roots are Cord, Evil, Larsen, Aschen, Andrews. Hope some one knows more about any of these families they are on my fathers side. Now on my mothers side they immigrated to the states in early 1900 from Germany Austria and Ireland Zay, Wanek, Pazmany, Bauer, Donovan
My St. Louis surnames are Schneider, Gersbacher, Nagel, Boe, Graham, and Mapplebeck (the last is actually one of my Winters ancestors, but when she lived in St. Louis she used her married name, which is not a direct ancestral line of mine because it was her second husband's name and my great-grandmother and her brother were the children of her first husband).
Do you want more details, such as specific names and dates?
