My great-grandfather John Sullivan and members of his family are buried in St. Patrick's in Millerton. He came to the US from Kerry (at least he was born in Kilgarven) with his brothers Cornelius and Dennis. John married Brigit Shinners. John was born June 1830, died February 1884. Brigit's sister Ellen married Martin Griffin and they are buried in the same graveyard.
One of John's brothers went to Hartford, one to NYC, and a unnamed sister came to the US and married a Sullivan in Boston. Their parents were named Daniel and Helena. Their oldest brother was also named Daniel.
My grandfather Cornelius Joseph was born in Paris, KY in 1871 .where one of Brigit's brothers lived. My Sullivans went to KY and then back to Dutchess County. There was another Shinners brother, Mike who lived in Chicago.
The generations in my mom's family are very wide spread. Cornelius was 48 when she was born in 1918. Her mother's family from Sweden is also widely spaced.
I appreciate any help. My mom died when I was a young teen and her notes are a little thin.
