Hello all

Need some advice/ help

I have traced back the Tyrrell line until 1804/05.  I have a found a Daniel Tyrrell born in either 1805 or 1804.  Different researchers differ.  However both have Daniel married to an Anne Wood but the list of childen does not match.  Daniel was born in Mortlake.  One source has him as the son of John Tyrrell and Mary (nee Nicholls).  The other as the son of John Tyrrell and Sarah (nee Francis).

The John and Mary come from east/ west Horsley whereas John and Sarah come from Mortlake.

Can anyone help?

Hello Roger

How do the children differ - can you give more info.? Do you have the 1851 Census page for the family. This one has Daniel and Ann + children with Daniel b Mortlake. A Daniel was baptised in Mortlake in 1805 and another was baptised in East Horsley in 1804. In 1851 Ann's mother ( Sarah Wood ) is living with them so he is certainly the one who married Ann Wood. As he says he was born in Mortlake, he is more likely to be the son of John and Sarah in Mortlake. I have Tyrells from Horsley in my tree.

If you can clarify the situation re the children, I'll have another look.

the 1851 has got daniel (b 1803?)  and Sarah Wood b1775 so this points to John with Anne wood from mortlake.  It could be then that previous researchers have made an error and that there are two seperate family lines.

As you may tell i am new to this.  My family, i thought lived in Brentford but must have moved from Mortlake.  Although I now livein Birmingham, I expect a trip to the archieves will be useful.  I did attend the WSFHS day which was also useful.

Many thanks for you help and interest.
