HOW THE PROVISIONS OF WILLS WERE EXECUTED?

I have come across several wills that were proved in Surrey the late 1700's. Two have my special interest as they provide ongoing funds to one of my ancestors.

William Brasier died and his will was proved in 1777. He made his brother-in-law the executor and in his will he gave all his property to his middle son (just turned 21 at the time of the death) with instructions to pay ₤1000 to his youngest son (18 at the time of the death) when he reached 21 and ₤300 to each of his three daughter when they reached the same age. One of these daughters was Mary who would have been 21 the year after the death.

In 1829 another relative died and named Mary to receive a portion of a yearly payment of ₤300.

I would like to know if anyone has experience tracing whether bequeaths similar to these were ever carried out.

Some of the wills that I have come very close to stating that if the executor or family member charged with paying says it was paid - thne it was paid. Are there any court records?
