I was at the American Library Association Conference in Washington, DC, and talked to the ProQuest Genealogy Products Managter, Bill Forsyth. (ProQuest distributes Ancestry Library Edition to libraries.) He said at this time Ancestory is in negotiations with Genline. Nothing has been finalized. And there is no decision as to whether Genline will contine on its own or will be folded into the Ancestry product. This was confirmed by an Ancestry employee.
I'm trying to print out as many GID records as I can find on my ancestors before Ancestry makes any "improvements" to Genline, pulling the actual records and substituting brief, cannibalized summations instead. (One of my major complaints with Ancestry is not enough information on the records which they don't actually show the original document!)
