Kenneth,
Thank you for your help! All I know is that he was born in Sept. 1843, came to the U.S. in 1864 and was naturalized. His wife was Emma Good born June 1862. She came to the U.S. in 1879. In 1881 they had a son Charles A. born in Ridgway, Pennsylvania. After 1900 I have their data but am looking for a connection to Sweden.

Thanks!
That was new info you got there and make it easier to help. Remeber too always giva as much info as possible.
I'll be back with more info
Do you have any info about where he could come from in sweden
Kenneth,

Unfortunately I don't. I am waiting for Oakwood Cemetery to call me back with more data from his file. Hopefully I will get more information such as his parent's names & perhaps from where in Sweden he came from. I will keep you posted.
THIS IS CLOSEST I COULD FIND. Was Denmark in your history at all?

Erv,

Thank you for the look up & reply. This is the 1st reply that I have received with at least the correct birth year & emigration year.
Charles's birth month of Sept. stays constant thru all his records in the U.S. as well as the middle initial of "B". There are so many Johnson's! I do know that birthdates have changed by a few days (parish records with baptism dates) and that is a possibility but I don't think that the month had changed.
I'm still never sure when I get a response if I should persue it or not! :-)

Thank you,
Donna
I could only find one Emma Good in the DIS database, but she was born in 1866. Still, an email might bring you some info.

Ron,

Thank you for the post. I do have all of Emma's information. She was Emma Christina Goodman of Fora, Gotland. Someone sent me a GEDcom about her. I just have to go to the Anbytarforum now to get things straightened out a bit more.
Thanks,
Donna

Kennert,

Thank you for the info.

I have a new lead on Charles B. Johnson. I found a Charles B. Johnson born 25/9/1843 in Kiaby, Kristianstad. On 24/10/1864 he leaves for Stro. This is where the search ends as he cannot be found in Stro. I think it is possible that he left for the U.S. then as the year for leaving would be correct. Many things with this fellow seem to be right for the dates. I am hoping that now there is a more specific date for leaving, he could be found.

Thanks,
Donna
