I am trying to figure out what the cause of death was for my great-great grandfather, Carl Magnus Klarstrom. I can't make out what it says so that I can search through my Swedish dictionary. Can any of you make out what it says?
He is the 5th person down on the left side of the page. He died in Gavle in 1890.
Thanks in advance!

My best shot at reading cause of death...
Starts with an "I" Likely not a "J" if you look at all of the Johans. I did compare lots of letters.
End of word maybe messic although double ss the second s is usually big and it is not here.
or mersu.
Is the little leaf in the image in the original document or a digital watermark?
As a side note, this is a Latin word (that's why you won't find it in a Swedish dictionary.)
I looked this up out of curiosity in Ordbok för Släktforskare and found it listed as:
Submeraid, a Latin word for drowning. The ending -sio must be a verb tense. Of course its just a guess as I don't know Latin.
