Most of my most recent ancestors were from Texas, I am researching Miller, Walker, Collins, Reaves/Reeves, Simmons, Tanner, and Melton, all of whom made it to Texas from other Southern regions. I'm trying to find out about my grandfather Humberto Cantu. He married my grandmother Frances Perez in Bexar County, San Antonio, TX. They divorced not long after. I know nothing about the "Cantu's" so any help would be appreciated : )

the bad thing about it is most of the time i am looking for one thing and see someelse in the book that gives us more infromation but if someelse is looking for you they dont know what else they are over looking

well i am not sure if the divorce is even there. My grandmother was living in Oklahoma and 6 months pregant,when a lady knocked on her door and asked if she knew the man in a picture she had. my grandmother stated it was her husband and the lady said it was her husband too. he was working on the railroad and the lady lived in denison. we have been unable to find them in oklahoma so i thought i would check in sherman to see if they were filed there

i as at the district clerk office accross the street. the divorce was in 1924 i think. they said it was in storage and i could not look at it

can anyone tell me how someone uses a land grant that was issued in 1831 and the person died in 1850 but the grants were used to obtained land in the 1870's?

went to grayson county courthouse to look for divorce papers of my grandmother. was told could not look at the records myself cost 10 for them to research it. i think this is wrong, public records should be free to research anytime if you take the time to go to the courthouse.

Mon -Tues -Thurs: 10am to 6pm
Wed: 10am to 8pm
Friday -Sun: CLOSED
Sat: 10am to 5pm
