The Family History Library houses over 110,000 microfilms which have been purchased from the National Archives. These collections pertain to every state and territory.
The most popular records are the population census schedules (1790 1880, 1900-1930), customs and immigration passenger lists (1820 1950s), federal court naturalizations (1906 1930s), and military service and pension indexes and files (1775 1900). Unique collections include passport applications (1795 1925) filmed by the FHL, US Canada Border Crossings (1895 1954), and 23 million World War One draft registration cards (1918). Census, immigration, passport, draft records, and miscellaneous other federal collections and indexes are mostly available via FamilySearch and/or Ancestry.com.
