D D Vaden Roadblock
Delaney Dodson (D D) Vaden was born about 1801 in Virginia (1850 census) and died in 1858 in Gibson County, Tennessee (will proved around Oct. 1858 and minor children placed under guardians around the same time). He married Mickey Austin Blankenship in 1822 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. I have not been able to determine who his parents are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Very interesting! I think we may be looking for either the same parents or possibly a sibling of the parent you are looking for. My Mary Vaden, married JW Dabbs date unknown, whose daughter, my ggrandmother, Mary Dabbs Baker was born in 1846 in Pulaski, Giles County, TN. I don't know if she is the eldest child of the three, Willie, Mary, or George. I'm planning on attending a genealogy all night at the local library next Friday and will put this search on the list!

I found a J W Dabbs on the 1860 census in Lynnville, Giles Co, TN.
J W Dabbs, 48, born VA
Ann E, 35, born TN
Mary E, 13, born TN - age is right for an 1846 birth depending on month. Census date was July 1860
WM J Jr, 8/12
Nothing on a George
I don't know if this is your J W Dabbs. Ann E could be a Mary Ann who went by Annie, or she could be a second wife.
Lynnville is north of Pulaski about 15 - 20 miles.
I have put a request for information on the 1850 census. I'll let you know if I find anything.
