Looking for the family of Charlotte Elvina Thornton (also looking for death information)

Charlotte Elvina Thornton, daughter of Henry Thornton

b - between 1826 - 1829 England (possibly in Nottinghamshire)

m - Charles Wilson Metcalfe, 5 July 1855, Brixton, Lambeth, Surrey, England

        1st child - Charles Henry, b - 14 August 1856, Brixton, Lambeth, Surrey, England

        2nd child - George Thornton, b - 3 March 1859, St. Marylebone, London, Middlesex, England

        3rd child - Charles Albert Wilson ("Bertie"), b - 1 December 1862, Parish of St. Bride, London...

immigrated to U.S. - 13 January 1865, family arrived Port of New York on E.W. Stetson

d - after 1865, most likely in the New York/New Jersey area

Charlotte was my great-great grandmother (her middle son, George, was my great grandfather.)  What I know about her is based on her marriage certificate and the birth certificates for her children, all of which I obtained from England's GRO; and the passenger manifest of the ship upon which the family arrived in New York.  I got some other information from the 1851 and 1861 (England) census records.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the family on the 1870 U.S. census, and I can't find Charlotte, Charles Wilson or Charles Albert Wilson on the 1880 census.  The two older sons appear on the 1880 census, living in separate households in Union County, New Jersey.

England's 1851 & 1861 census records show that Charlotte worked as a teacher in the London area both before and after her marriage.  In 1851, she was living in the home of her cousin, William C. Bromley, in St. Marylebone.  In addition to William Bromley and Charlotte Thornton, the other individuals within the houshold at the time (with age and relationship to William) were:
