Roger - thank you! I was hoping to find a similar comment from you in the TNG Forum!
William
Or at the top level of your site create a file called
robots.txt
and in that file put these 2 lines
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
That will stop all robots who follow the rules from indexing anything on your site.

How to stop the search engines from crawling.
It seems life has moved on since I first looked at this, and that there is now a file that requires to be amended: tngrobots.php. As there do not appear to be any help files associated with this, I am now taking a step into the unknown.
You will see that tngrobots.php is divided into three sections:
//no index, no follow,
//no indexing, but allow link following and
//allow full indexing.
If you want to stop search engines indexing and following, you must move the files into the top category.
HEALTH WARNING
Make sure you make a copy of this file be fore you start playing around with it.
The alternative is to write your own robots.txt file. See: http://www.thesitewizard.com/archive/robotstxt.shtml
There is also an option to use a .htaccess file. See: http://tng.lythgoes.net/wiki/index.php?title=Htaccess_Deny
My final option is for you to put
"ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW" into your meta file. This is what I would have done if I had not found the tngrobots.php file.
Remember - make a copy of the file before you play around with it.

Thank you Bobby and William for your input. Much appreciated! William, can you explain how to stop the search engines from crawling?
thanx,
LeLani
LeLani, You can set TNG so that search engines do not crawl through it.
LeLani, you should email the owner and persist with him until it is sorted. He is usually very good at getting peoples problems solved. I dont have his email address, look around the tng website/forum for it.
First off- I love TNG!! Had it online and everything was going well with making sure I set my controls for a log-in and privacy protection etc. but I realized that if I go through google and found my site, I could get in even without logging in!!? So I took it offline and have been without it for over a year! I've tried the forums etc., but I can't find any answers to 'fix' this. I would like to keep my info 'private' to the general public so if anyone can tell me how to do this, maybe I will put it back online.
My husband uses 'Host Gater' and I am added to his as a sub-domain. Host Gator said it would have nothing to do with being a sub-domain on thier servers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanx a bunch!
LeLani
