Here is the actual site www.archive.org/ on this site you can also find some regimental histories,and the War of the Rebellion the official records of the government , all public domain and downloadable. Thanks, Duane

Kathy, there is a neat sight called archive.org . You will find a great source of historical civil war material there. Search Pleasants Photographs a Pennsylvania nurse with many old photographs of men she cared for during the war. Have a lot of fun. Duane

My GGGGrandfathers name is Braden Zeigler he is was in the 74th Pa. Reg. Volunteers Member of Captain Little Pst G. A. R.

Bob,
Thanks Bob, I found a lot of information about him on line and even on microfilm on both his confederate and union service (New orleans 1st Inf.) Prior to the war I beieve him to be a french crewman who got "trapped" in New Orleans due to the Union blockad and forced due to circumstances to enlist in the militia What happened to him after the war , I don't know.

Duane keep in mind the spelling could be off on his last name:

Duane this could be him but not sure.

Duane here's just what I found doing a quick search:
European Brigade
1st Regiment, European Brigade, Militia
3rd Regiment, European Brigade (Garde Francaise), Militia
4th Regiment, European Brigade, Militia
5th Regiment, European Brigade (Spanish Regiment), Militia
6th Regiment, European Brigade (Italian Guards Battalion), Militia
I'll do somemore lookng and see what I come up with.
