Hi All,
I am a historian at Andersonville National Historic Site the largest Prisoner of War stockade during the war. I do free lookups for the asking. See my website at www.angelfire.com/ga2/Andersonvilleprison/

ADAH, (Alabama Dept. Archives & History) Put ADAH in your search engine. Has a lot of Alabama info. In the civil war service I put A "C" in last name and Thomas H. All civil war people from AL with last name starting with "C' came up.

His tombstone says he was born in 1842, but I will check this census out. Thank you. What does ADAH mean?

I have a question that I hope someone can answer. I have a copy of my husband's great grandfather's confederate pension application. First of all, the spelling of his last name has changed over time and I think that may be one reason why I'm having a difficult time locating information about him. On the pension application, his name is listed as Thomas H. Cawthron. I have also seen his name spelled Cothran, Cauthen, Cawthon, Cauthren, etc. Second, his pension application lists his company and regiment as "Company A 1st Ala Miss & Tenn Consolidated" and that he was enlisted "Spring 1861 to end of war." Then, his tombstone lists him as being in Company A 7th Ala Miss Tenn. So I'm not sure if it was the 1st or the 7th. I've been trying to find him on the muster rolls so I can try to track which battles he fought in, etc. Can anyone help me?

Thank you!

Do you have skills in general construction for grounds & trail work? Or specialized skills in carpentry, electrical installation, masonry, painting, or plastering? Are you a gardener? Or do you do living history impressions?

You can go to Footnotes and sign up for a monthly membership which is not expensive and they have civil war pensions that are online to view. You can download the image of the original.

Thanks Mooneysearch,
I just e-mailed them so we'll see what happens... I submitted the order late (their time) on a Friday so it is possible it got lost in the end of the week shuffle.

When I ordered mine it only took 4 weeks to get. Seems like a long time to wait.
I ordered a WW1 record back in Dec. and haven't gotten anything from it. I'll resend for it again.
I would try and contact them and see whats up with it.
