Yes I'm interested, Jim, in a group for Battle of Gettysburg.

In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, would anyone be interested in a group solely for the relatives of those who fought in Gettysburg?

I stand corrected - thanks Marilyn!

I hit a brick wall and nothing I tried leads anywhere. Looking for serve record of James Browning born in 1836 Limestone Co., Al Wife s name was Martha and they had a daughter Elizabeth born 1859 or 1860 belive she was born Giles Co, Tn James  Browning died Feb 9, 1863 SUPOEABLY in Limestone Co, Al. James Browning had a married sisther Mary Coffman who died 3 months after him. James had a brother Houston Browning who served in the 50 th Al. Co. H and Houston lived LONG after the war. In Houston s file it says decessed Feb 7, 1862 or 1863, that may be a mix up on the brothers but I can only confrim it WAS NOT Houston. The only other thing I know for sure is James s widow married Jesse J Coffman Jan 1865 in Giles Co., Tn. Jesse was the widower of Mary, James and Houston s sisther.

I dont know if this will help you are not but if they lived thru the war and lived to at lest 1907, they may be on the 1907 Confederat Veterams Cenus. I found some of my people and it s really good at what regs they served in, and some served in more then one. Also says if they were wounded and what battle. So far as I know and I am no exspert all the Southern states had this Confederate cenus I KNOW AL. and Tn did

I am looking for the record of my Great Grandfather Harvey E. Fitts who served in Co. K of the 23rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry from 1861-1862 and transferred to the Calvary in 1862 but I don't know which Calvary unit he joined. Any help would be appreciated.
