Comment by Karen Synychak on July 9, 2011 at 8:48pm: Beverly, I found several references for Henry Gaylor and Henry J. Gaylor on Ancestry. He is in the U.S. Civil War Soldiers, Alabama Civil War Soldiers, and U.S. Federal Census 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900. Let me know if you need these docs.

Comment by TerryAnn Bertone on July 5, 2011 at 11:06am: Can someone help me? Meldrick Marion Hand was my GG Grandfather. Footnote said he was in Co C 9th LA Inf. But when I googled the 9th LA Inf all records show that the 9th surrender a few months in LA before he was killed in Sharpsburg, MD on 9-16-1863. Soldier were paroled and sent home.Does anyone have any thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

William Nash b. 1835 NC - killed in Battlle of Stone River

Jeremiah Nash b. 1845 IN - d. Mar 1863 in LaGrange, TN

George W. Nash b. 15 Aug 1839 IN - he was with Co 21st IN Inf and later with 1st IN heavy artillary

I have a feeling that their older brother Pleasant R. Nash was also in service, but have not been able to find anything on this yet

This is for the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Most of the the military who died in the Jefferson Barracks were also buried here.

Prussia and joined Co D of the 41st Regiment of Missouri Infantry at he age of 22. This is a photo of him in his uniform taken not long before his death, we think the family asked him to wear it for one last photo.....
