James Edward Pace was born on 15 JUN 1811 in Double Springs, Putnam Co., Or Rutherford Co, Tennessee and died 6 APR 1888 in Thatcher, Graham, Az. The very short version of what I know about him is he was baptized in the LDS church and moved to Nauvoo. There we worked on the temple and was a policeman. James started across the plains with the rest of the saints and joined the Mormon Battalion where he was a captain. After walking to California he returned to Utah and then returned to Winter Quarters to get his family. Then after one more winter returned to Utah with his family. He then settled in Payson Utah and lived there for many years. Later in life he moved to Thatcher Arizona where he died.

I have some journal entries that I got from the BYU library which I will post here. But if you have any information, photos, or whatever please post them to this forum for all to share.
