When my children were younger (I'm a great grandma now), we usually hit at least one family cemetery a summer on our annual trips home (we were military).
To this day my youngest son (now in his 40s) refers to genealogists as "grave hoppers." Any time he took a phone call from someone wanting genealogy info, that's what he called them = "You got a call from a grave hopper Mom." I have lots of photos of my kids hanging over stones to read names and just generally wandering around to read the stones.
