I am interested in anyone researching the VAUGHN family in Kentucky and Johnson County Indiana.  I have VAUGHN's going back to Cornelius VAUGHN (1695-1736) I actually have VAUGHNS on the other side of my family as well.  Right now I am researching James B. VAUGHN b. 16 OCT 1798 - d. 23 APR 1836.  Does anyone have a connection  with these VAUGHNS? James moved from Woodford, KY to Johnson County, IN.

My Vaughan (James) family moved from Westmoreland Co. PA to Holmes Co. Ohio ca 1800.  One son (Alexander) went on to NW Ohio- Fulton Co. in 1830s. At least one more son moved to Indiana. I'm looking for any one tracing this family.

I agree, Betty. Patsy must have been one heck of a woman. She would scare the livin' daylites out of me! What I would like to know is how she managed to marry her son Andrew Jackson Vaughn's Grandfather-in- law, Joseph Shaw?

My Vaughn relatives are from Tennessee. I'm only back to William Henry VAUGHN b 1879 in Tennessee. I'm not quite sure where in Tennessee though.

My Vaughn Line goes back to John Vaughn, son of Claiborn Vaughn) in GA. I found his marriage to Martha "Patsy" Wiggins in Forsythe Co, GA. on 21 Dec 1848. They had 5 children; James C, William L, Andrew Jackson, Sarah E and Mary J. After John's death about 1862, the family moved to AL then the Quitman Co, TX.

Looking at a photo of Martha Wiggins, I am convienced John must have been a brave man!!
