Alexander M. Thatcher born 1818

I have been searching for the family of Alexander M. THATCHER for a long time.  He was born 18 July 1818 and died 13 January 1880 in Great Barrington, Berkshire Co., Mass.  He married Huldah BISHOP 14 August 1844 in Tyringham, Berkshire Co.  At the time he was a resident of Northampton, Hampden Co., Mass.  I've found no earlier records for him in either county.  In reviewing records in Northampton, it seems most residents either came from the Massachusetts eastern shore or along the Connecticut River.  I've read that some Thatchers moved from southern Connecticut to either Vermont or New Hampshire.  I hope that Alexander ties in somewhere.
