Richard Wait (1708-abt 1785) Christchurch, Middlesex, Virginia

I am descended through John Wait (1730-1791).

Although there are many trees in Ancestry.com that link John with this Richard, there are other sites that say that DNA tests invalidate the connection.

Does anyone else know this story or know where the line really goes? I'm new to this and thought I'd just put it out there. Thanks!
