Hi everyone
I'm new to this place, but seems interesting to be in touch with Cain, Coleman, searchers, & Wright researchers. I'm searching for Coleman's in Washington County Oh or at least searching, not for sure they're there. Early 1800's from about 1825. Anyone have them let me know. My relative, John Buchanan Coleman was born then, but feel he was possibly an only child, but not sure at this point, but was in the Civil War fro Beaver County, in Co. I, 140th Regiment, & buried with wife, Martha Jane Snodgrass Coleman in Spring Grove Cemetery, East Liverpool, OH. JB's parents were jonathan & Keziah Coleman. I've been trying to trace her but can't find much on her, whether that maybe a nickname or soemthing?! I was told that they were buried on private farm, & that they're stones were taken off the land?! I found a census once, with their little family, but not after that, I think was 1850-1860?! Any help would be appreciated, if anyone can find anything?! Cathy Raber

I wanted to say a mistake I made was I wanted to correct it was Washington Co, PA I was looking for Coleman's. Thanks

I am searching for info on James Thomas Walsh (1841-1910) of Beaver Falls, who married my ancestor, Susan Mest (1847-1924). I would like to know where they are buried but haven't found much in the way of cemetery listings there. Susan Mest Walsh died May 20, 1924 and James Thomas Walsh or J.T. died in 1910. The place they lived last was Beaver Falls, but before that they lived in Dougherty Township and New Brighton. He made ice cream and owned a store located at 1426 Fourth Ave., Beaver Falls. Any info or suggestions on either them or their children, Charles, Harry, Bessie, Bertha, Mary or Edward would be greatly appreciated. I only have birth years for the children, would like death years and where they are buried. Thank you,

Hi Jeanne, I am from Beaver Falls. I now live in California. Your names aren't familiar to me. I may be able to help you with cemetaries there. The Carnegie Library in Beaver Falls houses a genealogy center. They may be able to help you. Also, the funeral homes have been great at providing information. I remember a family that made ice cream and had a store. Their name, however was Waite. Let me know if I can help you

Hi Sandy, thank you so much. Do you still have family or friends in Beaver Falls? Are your ancesters from there? I live in NY, a little south of Buffalo, and think it might only be 3 or 4 hours drive so I might try to go down there sometime and do a little research but I should check out as much as I can ahead of time. James Walsh had the grocery store in about 1890, only for a year or so, then he moved to Dougherty township and then to Beaver Falls in 1902. That's when he bought the property at 1426 Fourth Avenue and that's where he built up his ice cream manufacturing business, which he operated until his death in 1910, when his son Charles Walsh took it over. This was from a book "Genealogical and Personal history of Beaver County, PA" by John W. Jordan, in 1914. It sounds like he was very successful and the article says "Howard Cook said that James Thomas Walsh originated the "Whitehouse" flavor, which is vanilla with maraschino cherries. Isaly's in Beaver Falls always sold it and Meadow Gold may have also had that flavor". I don't know if any of that sounds familiar to you. James & Susan's children were Charles, who married Marjorie Melzena Bordeaux, Nora who married E.S. Frishkorn, Harry, Bessie, who married J.H. Nicholson, Bertha who married Charles Kraft, and Mary Walsh, a teacher in the public school at Woodlawn, PA. Those are good ideas, for me to contact the funeral homes and the Carnegie Library. What are some of the main cemeteries called? The book says James was a member of the Presbyterian Church, I wonder if they had a cemetery. If you think of anything else or have suggestions, please let me know. Thank you, Jeanne

How do I decide whether to "reply" or start a "discussion". ? ?? So I'll try here.
Is there anyone here that is familiar with Baden or surrounding area ? I have a note from the Daily Times 15 Jun 1936 ,
one of those "20 years ago" things that mentions the family I'm researching ( Hartswick) as living in "Colona Heights".
I wonder if the area is well enough defined to try and find any details about it. None of the current and past members
of the family recognize the names involved. ( Harry Hartswick and daughter Marcella )
