My GG Grandfather, Malachi Powell was born abt 1808 in Butler County, Pennsylvania. He married Margaret Walters, born abt 1805. They were married abt 1833 in Pennsylvania. I believe they were married in Butler County. They had eight children, all born in Butler County. I cannot find them on the 1850 census. My problem is that I have no sources for this information. Please help me verify this information.
Thank you for your help.
Hi Sheila,

I am also researching Powell, I am not sure of what county, but certain it is western PA. M GGG Grandfather Marion C Powell, born Oct 1874, in Neshannock, Lawrence Co., PA. I believe, but not verified his birth location. He married a Anna Magee and they had several children before he deserted them in 1906. I have been unable to locate him after 1900, but I have a good "suspect" in Allegheny county. My lines also run there Butler County.

Hope to hear back from you.
Surnames I am seeking additional information on:

Hall - John and James Marshall
Sipe/Seip - Peter
Reiss/Rice - Henry and Elizabeth (Sipe)
Bollinger - Anna Catherine (Sipe)

Most of these ancestors may be connected to or settled around the Harmony area aftger the Society moved on, then moved further down to Lawrence Counties. I have much information but I am stuck on proving parentage for Peter Seip/Sipe b 1790 (possibly in Northampton Co, PA) Elizabeth is rumored to be his sister, but again, I am unable to locate source for this.

Peter's wife, Anna Catharine Bollinger left him after 1860, family lore says for Church differences, I have been trying to find her death information.

Thanks everyone.

I am posting this in Butler because Sarah and Jacob died in Butler, but born in W. PA. I am looking for the parents of Sarah Ann Graham (b. 1810) who m. Jacob (Col) Brinker (his 2nd marriage) in 1827. Her father  was Robert Graham Esq. (which I take to mean he was a gentleman of "Pittsbugh" (this from the newspaper in 1827), even though he was an immigrant) Robert Graham died in 1827.

I am also curious abt the cause of death of my great grandmother's brother (of Butler, and buried there) who predeceased her by many years: Grove Graham (1869-1899), left a wife: Etta (Bowman) and daughter: Irene Bancroft b. 1892. They moved in with her parents, then to the west coast. Irene married, but I find no evidence of progeny which is sad since I am in possession of some beautiful photos of the father & daughter taken shortly before he died.
