My gg grandpa was Andrew Jackson WALTERS born 28 January, 1828 in Fairfield Co., OH died 21 May, 1921 in Twin Springs, Linn, KS. I am looking for the names of his parents, who are said to have come from Fayette Co, PA. They moved to DeWitt Co, Illinois in the early 1830's, and that is where gg granddad met and married Eliza Jane HARP in 1855. In the 1865 Kansas Census, there is a Harrison WALTERS and his wife Martha living right next door to Andrew, who was a weapon maker. I don't know how the two are related, but it is obvious that they are in some way. Maybe a brother or cousin. I never saw this Harrison WALTERS in later census of the same area, so he must have moved on. Does anyone out there have any information on this family?
